Maple Syrup Festival

Held annually in the month of April, the Maple Syrup Festival is a community celebration that honours the long standing tradition of harvesting Maple Syrup.

The Anishnaabek have traded this tasty resource for many years and it is documented that in the 1850’s the people of Wikwemikong were trading in excess of four hundred thousand pounds of Maple Sugar. This family fun event is filled with Sugar bush tours, traditional harvesting practices and of course Maple Syrup.
